Technical Architect and Java Development Team Lead: Responsible for planning, defining, and supporting the software design patterns, approaches and strategies for the delivery of future functional and technical capabilities for a software component or group of components. They conduct or manage impact assessment efforts, produce or review estimates for new features, software changes or defect fixes. Coach other team members to develop stronger functional and technical skills.

They work closely with Project Managers, other Architects, Developers, and Testers to define the intended business and technical capabilities that the team needs to deliver as part of a project. They also work closely with the product management, charter clients and customer advisory boards to ensure development plans are in line with the Marketing, Operations, and Business requirements of the software. While not a technical expert, they understand the technology, the patterns, the architecture and how to utilize and apply them
