Enterprise Architecture and Engineering Support Services

Provide technical and architectural expertise and review to/of customer programs and projects, including membership on multiple Integrate Project Teams.

Support the Division's programs to select approved and appropriate architecture artifacts to the major customer initiatives.

Review customer IT architecture planning and implementation processes, develop recommended improvements, and document the results of the review.

Advise CJIS on the technical aspects of the SoS technical architecture to ensure interoperability among the CJIS networks, databases, and systems.

Provide responses to standard process and data calls.

Architecture document maintenance and distribution; recommend revised policies and processes to optimize the implementation of the technical architecture.

Review requisition packages

Update, merge, and refine the IT Capital Investment Plan document to include full life-cycle costs, thorough analysis of strategic plans, risk management plans, and SOA artifacts to provide insightful cost savings and/or cost avoidance recommendations.

Provide studies and analyses in support of the customer.

Maintain awareness of new technologies and advise the client of their potential application to the customer.
Requirements
Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree or 15+ years senior level experience in a large IT organization
Sr. level experience in IT Architecture, System Engineering, or Software Engineering; technical experience in a large enterprise
Direct experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
Direct experience in significant development and/or IT operations environments and data architecture, preference for direct experience in database architecture
Experience in evaluating vendor products and services to determine best fit solutions at the enterprise level; A balanced and experienced view of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) versus Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) solutions Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Skilled in expressing technical concepts clearly in writing and in presentations
Skilled at participating in engineering level discussions where diplomacy is required to defend the architectural position or identify engineering input for architectural improvements
