Description

The primary responsibility includes optimizing existing code, taking new ideas and requirements and developing new code and evaluating other developed code.

Engineer algorithms/data structures, develop code, test IT and implement the code.

Follow standard software development disciplines, working independently and in a team environment on assignments.

Use custom and prototype software to test compatibility with available hardware.

Develop software and perform appropriate testing using a variety of techniques to ensure data integrity and reliability of processing.

Assist analyst, programmers, and others who work with software strategies, processing and space utilization efficiencies, database security procedures, backup and program recovery, and testing techniques.

Represent the organization at meetings and conferences to explain software development, testing, and evaluation of systems.

Evaluates approaches used by other government agencies and private industry to assess new technology.

Some travel may be required.

Requirements

It is preferred the Senior Software Developer/Engineer is knowledgeable of the capability of MAC/OS (OSX).
